Privacy policy
Last updated: 2026-10-19
Nomto is an exam practice service. This page explains what we store about you and why. We do not sell your data and there are no advertising trackers on the site.
What we store
Your account: email address, a salted hash of your password (never the password itself), your interface and feedback language, the time you accepted this policy and whether you agreed to receive tips by email.
Your practice: the text of your answers (transcripts of what you said and the essays you wrote), your scores and the review of each answer, your goal, exam date and study time if you set them.
Voice recordings: kept only between uploading an answer and scoring the round, then deleted, usually within a few hours.
Before you sign up, your practice is linked to a random identifier in a cookie on your device; when you create an account it moves to the account.
Why
To score your answers, show your progress and plan, keep you signed in, and reset your password when you ask. We use your email for service messages; tips only if you agreed.
Who processes it
Hosting and database: Hetzner Online GmbH, data centre in Helsinki, Finland (EU).
Scoring, speech recognition and the examiner voice: OpenAI (USA). Your answers and recordings are sent to OpenAI only to produce the score and the review.
Email delivery (password reset): Resend, when enabled.
Cookies
Only the ones the service needs: a session cookie when you sign in, a device cookie for guest practice and your language choice. No advertising or third-party analytics cookies.
How long we keep it
Your account and practice are kept while the account exists. Voice recordings are deleted after scoring. To delete your account with all its data, write to us (see below): we erase it within 30 days.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, its correction or deletion, or object to its processing. Write to privacy@nomto.app from the address of your account.
Changes
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we will say so on the site before the change applies.
