Exercise and Health: a Chinese text with translation

My dad is fifty this year, and he used to exercise very little.

He sat in the office working all day, and when he got home from work he watched TV.

Last winter he often caught colds, and he had a fever several times.

The doctor gave him a checkup and said he was overweight and should exercise more.

After that, Dad decided to go running in the park every morning.

At first, he was worn out after running for just ten minutes.

But he kept at it every day and ran farther and farther.

On weekends he also goes to the gym with me to play badminton.

He doesn't drink sweet drinks anymore, and he goes to bed before ten at night.

Six months later, Dad had lost ten kilos.

Now he rarely gets sick and is happy every day.
